On December 22, 2024, the State Corporation "Deposit Insurance Agency" (DIA) was admitted to the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) as an observer member. DIA representatives will be able to participate in IFSB working groups, practical workshops, and research projects, as well as collaborate with other Board members on the development of Islamic finance and the insurance of Islamic deposit products.
As of the beginning of 2025, the Board included 193 members from 60 countries.
As part of the activities of the Expert Group on harmonization of legislation in the field of insurance (guaranteeing) of bank deposits, liquidation, resolution and bankruptcy of credit institutions in the Eurasian Economic Union under the Advisory Committee on Financial Markets of the Eurasian Economic Commission (hereinafter – the Expert Group), a regular meeting was held on December 12, 2024, in Yerevan, Republic of Armenia. The event was organized by the Deposit Guarantee Fund of Armenia. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission, deposit protection organizations of the EAEU countries, and financial regulators of the EAEU member states.
On November 20, 2024, the twelfth meeting of the Working Group on Cooperation in the Field of Digitalization of Deposit Insurers of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) was held via videoconference.
During the meeting of the Working Group, the participants discussed the 2025 Work Plan and preliminarily approved the following topics for reports and discussion:ensuring the continuous availability of electronic services. Service level;
online payouts;
AI technologies in the activities of a deposit insurer: first projects;
information systems for analyzing the solvency of banks, identifying and assessing risks for the purposes of the deposit insurers (payment of periodic contributions, assessment of the probability of financial deterioration);
digitalization of the HR system.
As part of the international events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the deposit guarantee system of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an International Conference and a meeting of the Council of Heads of deposit insurance (guarantee) organizations of the EAEU countries were held on October 23, 2024, in Almaty.
The events were organized by the Kazakhstan Deposit Insurance Fund (KDIF).
The participants of the International Conference discussed the role of deposit insurers in shaping a stable architecture of financial security, as well as the investment management of deposit insurers' assets.
As part of the activities of the Working Group on Cooperation in the Field of Digitalization of Deposit Insurers of the Eurasian Economic Union (hereinafter - EAEU) member states, the eleventh meeting was held on October 23, 2024, in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan, organized by the Kazakhstan Deposit Insurance Fund. The meeting was attended by representatives of all deposit insurers of the EAEU member states.
Representatives of the Deposit Insurance Agency of the Russian Federation and the Kazakhstan Deposit Insurance Fund made presentations on the topic of the use of information subsystems during the period of a bank's temporary administration, its liquidation and bankruptcy, as well as in operating banks.

On September 25, 2024, a meeting of the Expert Group on harmonization of legislation in the field of insurance (guaranteeing) of bank deposits, liquidation, resolution and bankruptcy of credit institutions in the Eurasian Economic Union under the Advisory Committee on Financial Markets of the Eurasian Economic Commission (hereinafter – the Expert Group) was held via videoconference.
During the meeting of the Expert Group, a discussion was held on the issues of implementing the harmonization of legislation of the member states in the field of bank deposit insurance (guarantee), integration processes within the EAEU, and the formation of a common financial market.
On July 4-6, 2024, international events were held in Tbilisi, Georgia, including an international conference on "Deposit Insurers and Bank Resolution: Current State and Future Challenges," the annual meeting of the Eurasian Regional Committee (EARC), and a meeting of the European Regional Committee (ERC) of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI). The international events were organized by the International Association of Deposit Insurers jointly with the Deposit Insurance Agency of Georgia.
As a member of the Committee of the Republic of Armenia for the Development and Implementation of the Financial Literacy Program, the Deposit Guarantee Fund of the Republic of Armenia participated in a series of events in May and July 2024 aimed at increasing the literacy level among students. Specifically, Fund employees took part in the annually held "Brain Ring" intellectual game, the "WIKIMONTH" contest, the "Wikimedia for Women" project, as well as an event at a youth camp.
At the events, the Fund's employees delivered presentations on the activities of the Deposit Guarantee Fund of Armenia and organized discussions on various financial topics. Participants were awarded prizes and souvenirs.
As part of international events in St. Petersburg on July 17-18, 2024, meetings were held of the Expert Group on harmonization of legislation in the field of insurance (guaranteeing) of bank deposits, liquidation, resolution and bankruptcy of credit institutions in the Eurasian Economic Union under the Advisory Committee on Financial Markets of the Eurasian Economic Commission (hereinafter – the Expert Group) and the Council of Heads of deposit insurance (guarantee) organizations of the EAEU countries (hereinafter – the Council of Heads).
The events were organized by the State Corporation "Deposit Insurance Agency".
The State Corporation "Deposit Insurance Agency" (DIA) will be able to acquire from bank creditors the rights of claim against individuals held subsidiarily liable for driving banks into bankruptcy, if these rights were not sold at auction.
The corresponding Law No. 208-FZ "On Amendments to Articles 61-17 and 189-96 of the Federal Law 'On Insolvency (Bankruptcy)' and Articles 19 and 39 of the Federal Law 'On Insurance of Deposits in Banks of the Russian Federation'" came into force in July 2024.
The National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter - NBK) announces the start of the process of transferring assets of JSC "Kazakhstan Deposit Insurance Fund" (hereinafter – KDIF) to private asset management companies for trust management. The transfer of funds is being carried out as part of the NBK's strategy to develop the securities market and gradually move away from managing the assets of its subsidiary organizations.
A ceremony was held in Almaty to sign the relevant agreement with representatives of several asset management companies.
On June 26, 2024, the ninth meeting of the Working Group on Cooperation in the Field of Digitalization of Deposit Insurers of the Eurasian Economic Union (hereinafter – the Working Group) was held via videoconference. During the meeting of the Working Group, the State Corporation "Deposit Insurance Agency" of the Russian Federation (hereinafter – DIA) and the Deposit Guarantee Fund of Armenia (hereinafter – Fund of Armenia) shared their experience in implementing tools for submitting applications and online reimbursement.
Starting from June 4, 2024, creditors, borrowers, and depositors of liquidated financial organizations can apply to the State Corporation "Deposit Insurance Agency" (hereinafter - DIA) online using the digital profile infrastructure.
When submitting an inquiry through the DIA website, they will need to enter minimal information and will not have to attach an identification document. It is sufficient to grant DIA permission to use data from the State Services (Gosuslugi) portal.

The event was organized by the Agency of Deposit Compensation of the Republic of Belarus. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission, deposit insurers, and financial regulators of the EAEU member states.
