Russia Raises Coverage Limit for Long-Term Deposits

The maximum amount of insurance coverage for deposits certified by irrevocable savings certificates with a term of more than 3 years has been doubled to 2.8 million rubles.

The corresponding Law No. 347-FZ “On Amendments to the Federal Law ‘On the Insurance of Deposits with Banks of the Russian Federation'” was signed by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on July 31, 2025. The document will come into force 90 days after its official publication date.

The legislative amendments are aimed at increasing the attractiveness of long-term savings for citizens and will also contribute to attracting long-term funds into the banking sector, which are necessary for financing priority projects in the economy.
