Ninth Meeting of the EAEU Working Group on Digitalization of Deposit Insurers Held

On June 26, 2024, the ninth meeting of the Working Group on Cooperation in the Field of Digitalization of Deposit Insurers of the Eurasian Economic Union (hereinafter – the Working Group) was held via videoconference. During the meeting of the Working Group, the State Corporation “Deposit Insurance Agency” of the Russian Federation (hereinafter – DIA) and the Deposit Guarantee Fund of Armenia (hereinafter – Fund of Armenia) shared their experience in implementing tools for submitting applications and online reimbursement.

Representatives of DIA reported that since March 2024, an application for reimbursement can be submitted remotely on the website of DIA or on the Russian State Services (Gosuslugi) portal. DIA transfers funds to the depositor using the bank account details specified in their application, while holders of “Mir” payment system cards can receive the payout by card number. The service is available to all categories of depositors.

Representatives of the Fund of of Armenia reported on the development of a website for the partial automation of insurance payouts, which will function as a communication channel between the Fund of the Republic of Armenia and agent banks during the payouts. Depositor reimbursement in the Republic of Armenia is possible in cash or via transfer to an account specified by the depositor.

The meeting of the Working Group was also attended by representatives of deposit insurance (guarantee) organizations from the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Kyrgyz Republic.
