Depositors in Russia Can Now Be Reimbursed Online

29.03.2024 at 11:52

Starting from March 19, 2024, an application for reimbursement can be submitted remotely on the website of the State Corporation “Deposit Insurance Agency” (DIA) or through the Unified Portal of Government Services (Gosuslugi).

This became possible after amendments to the Federal Law “On the Insurance of Deposits in Banks of the Russian Federation” came into force.

DIA will transfer funds to the depositor using the bank account details specified in their application. Holders of cards from the national payment system “Mir” can submit an application without specifying account details. The funds will be transferred using the card number.

The service is available to all categories of depositors.

Citizens who are not comfortable with the remote payment format can still receive insurance compensation as before, by personally applying to an authorized agent bank or a DIA office.

Furthermore, a service has been launched on DIA website that allows you to check the status of an application submitted to the DIA.

It allows you to clarify the status of an application for insurance compensation, a creditor’s claim, a request for a certificate, and other inquiries. The service can be used by individuals and legal entities who have applied:

— through the DIA website;

— via email;

— by Russian Post;

— in person at a DIA office.
