In Q2 2026 in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the following events occurred in the sphere of insurance (guaranteeing) of bank deposits, liquidation, financial recovery, and bankruptcy of credit institutions, as well as the functioning of the banking market:

1. The Kazakhstan Deposit Insurance Fund (KDIF) continued to build up its special reserve.

According to data as of June 1, 2026, the volume of the KDIF special reserve amounted to 1.67 trillion tenge.

2. The Kazakhstan Deposit Insurance Fund launched KDIF Academy – an information and outreach program of the Fund to improve banking employees’ knowledge of deposit protection.

The goal of the KDIF Academy program is to develop a unified and practical understanding of the DGS among banking “frontline” staff, so that comprehensive information on savings protection accompanies the depositor at every contact with the bank – from a call to the call center to comments on social media.
Bank CenterCredit became the first bank to express readiness to join the initiative in a pilot project format. KDIF and BCC signed a memorandum of cooperation and began the phased implementation of the joint initiative.
